On June 5-6, BioMar participated in RASTECH 2024 in Charlotte, North Carolina, joining over 350 experts and key players in the aquaculture industry. As the only fish feed manufacturer at the event, we were proud to be part of the important conversations shaping the future of Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS).

BioMar BioFarm manager Thomas Cavrois-Rogacki

Thomas Cavrois-Rogacki, BioFarm Manager, and Maksim Mironenka, Regional Sales Manager, represented BioMar, engaging with global industry leaders and sharing insights into our RAS-specific feed solutions.

“The diversity of expertise at RASTECH was impressive,” said Thomas. “From fish farmers and hatchery experts to investors and engineers, everyone shared a commitment to driving innovation in RAS.”

The event featured 74 exhibitors showcasing the latest technologies and solutions tailored to RAS operations. BioMar’s booth attracted considerable interest from industry professionals looking for sustainable feed solutions that support the specific needs of RAS facilities.

Maksim highlighted the significance of connecting with companies like Salmon Evolution and Proximar Seafood, as well as researchers from Benchmark Genetics and the Freshwater Institute. “The conversations we had at RASTECH reflected the collective effort to move the industry forward,” he said.

Key topics discussed during the conference included risk management, smolt health in RAS environments, and wastewater treatment innovations. The Investors' Forum highlighted the growing interest in RAS technology from the financial sector, reinforcing the importance of BioMar’s continued focus on RAS feed solutions.

Emerging technologies in wastewater treatment were a particular point of interest. These innovations are key to improving the sustainability of land-based aquaculture, an area where BioMar continues to lead.

BioMar’s participation at RASTECH 2024 reinforced our commitment to advancing RAS technology through innovative feed solutions. The insights gained from the event will guide our future developments as we continue to support sustainable aquaculture worldwide.
